11 Jul Julie and Scott | Reflections at the Buttes Wedding | Tucson
Julie and Scott knew Reflections at the Buttes in Tucson would be their dream wedding location. It really is the perfect venue for anyone longing for green grass, palm trees, and privacy on their wedding day.
No one could have planned Julie and Scott’s “Let Love Bloom” theme wedding better, but Mother Nature herself. Those cute little personalized watering cans and stationary with seeds for guest favors were extremely fitting for their day!
Living in the desert means a lot of days without rain, however, on their particular day, the clouds opened up and the rain came. Nonetheless, Julie & Scott had their heart set on an outdoor ceremony underneath the gazebo. Therefore, we waited until we get our lucky break. The rain stopped for a magical 20 minutes. That was the 20 minutes we needed to get them down the aisle.
We arrived at Reflections to find Julie in her prep room laughing with all the ladies while Scott and his friends played some pool. All of her details were set out for us to photograph. From her Betsey Johnson “Something Blue” heels to her gorgeous A line dress from Maya Palace. We knew this would be a glamorous wedding. The rose bridal bouquet from the talented florist Celebrations by Silvia added just a touch of soft pastels. Silvia also draped the gazebo in a floral arch.
In addition, the four-tier cake from Sweet Creations Bakery incorporated those same soft colors along with navy outlining the tiers. In the ballroom, the décor blended all these tones together with navy blue and pink linens. Lastly, centerpieces of white silk orchids with river rock at the base added a simple elegance to the room.
Their sweet ceremony went off as planned and Julie got her walk down the aisle with her dad while Scott waited at the top of the stairs of the gazebo. Almost immediately following their walk down the aisle as husband and wife, the rain started again.
Everyone felt a sense of relief that this sweet couple got their wish. Their guests headed inside to the reception area for their first dance and to enjoy the rest of the evening.
They say rain is good luck on your wedding day, we could not agree more and we think it helped make the photos even better. If it does rain on your day, take a tip from these two; remain positive, have fun, and keep on smiling!
