24 Dec Rebecca & Matthew | La Mariposa Resort Wedding | Tucson
"This was literally the best day of my life...the only thing I needed were more hours in the day" Rebecca recalls looking back at her gorgeous wedding at La Mariposa Resort in Tucson.
Rebecca and Matt knew each other for years before they became any more than friends. Finally, on a trip to Florida to celebrate her brother's graduation from flight training, sparks flew. The rest, as they say, is history.
With Matt in his Air Force attire and Rebecca in her two piece dress from Blush Bridal Couture, the couple were definitely something out of a magazine. Their outdoor ceremony was held in front of the beautiful lake and mountains at the resort. A traditional saber arch ceremony with six servicemen lining the aisle ended the ceremony. Finally, they shared a kiss before exiting the arch and Rebecca received a "Welcome to the Air Force" gentle tap.
Although this wedding had many traditional aspects of a military wedding, the couple chose Rebecca's grandmas as their flower girls. It was a very special and unique moment that no one will forget.
The entire reception room boasted red, white, and blues from Urban Event Decor. A white traditional cake from Cakes by Genevieve along with a groom's Air Force cake were on display.
As the evening evolved, the gentleman removed the jackets to reveal their "mess dress party shirt" underneath. A great surprise for all the guests to witness.
In addition, Rebecca chose to gift her mother the bridal bouquet. As all the single ladies lined up to catch it, she walked over to her mother and placed it lovingly in her hands.
Finally, after all the toasting, dancing, and fun, Rebecca and Matt kissed underneath a sparkler exit. Sparks continue to fly. Thank you both for inviting us to capture your perfect wedding day.
With the holiday season here, Rebecca and Matt share their own advice to deployed service men and women who will not be with their significant others this season. "Surround yourself with loved ones and friends...next Christmas will seem so much more special when you get to spend it together. Having your loved one deployed for months at a time forces you to not sweat the small stuff; focus on the reason you are together in the first place."
